Sunday & 26!

Wow! This past Sunday was my 26th birthday, & let me tell ya, it definitely creeped up on me! I can't believe how fast the years have flown by. I feel like I was just 18, leaving the house for the first time, off to college, etc. So much has happened, I have met so many wonderful people, & have had so many amazing experiences. I have learned so much, & I feel truly blessed for the hand I have been dealt. (insert mushy sigh here). But seriously! What an amazing 26 years it has been.

For my birthday, all I really wanted was some R&R. I threw on one of my most comfiest tees, & these super comfy pants (I have been asked a lot about these zipper black jeans, so I figured I would feature them (ON MAJOR SALE!) & link a few look-alikes); & lounged around! Jordan (best husband award!) & I went furniture shopping (definitely 26), went to lunch with a few friends, & then spent the evening talking, eating (yes some more! he even made me a mug cake), & watching Grease Live! It was a really nice day.

Sunday Funday T-Shirt: Fifth Sun via Target {here}|| Black Zipper Jeans: Bullhead (yes guys, it is absolutely my most favorite jean brand! & these are marked down not once, but TWICE UNDER $20) {here}; plus look alikes- from Forever 21 {here} & Joe's {here}|| Black Booties: Similar @Halogen (for 50% off!) {here}|| Black Fur Jacket: Similar @Michael Kor's {here}|| Necklaces: Tiffany & Co {here} & Juicy Couture; Similar {here}

This year; I am excited to:

+Move into our new home! EEK! Definitely what I am really really looking forward to, 6 months ago we took the plunge, sold our first home, moved in with the in-laws, & started tearing down & building back up our new home! It has been a crazy wild ride, & I am so excited to see the end result & to make our house a home.

+Travel...maybe? Last year we were beyond beyond blessed to travel as much as we did. I still pinch myself sometimes when I think of all the places we went, people we met, things we saw. I am looking forward to more traveling this year, whether it even be to the lake & back! I love getting away, unplugging for a bit, & seeing the world.

+Strengthen my relationships. Marriage, friendship, family, coworkers, etc. I am always looking forward to spending time with loved ones (the old & the new!). I really appreciate when I do get to see them, the things we get to do together, the fun times that are had, & just their company in general!

+Blog a lot more & develop new hobbies that come with it. I haven't really devoted myself to blogging as much as I would like to, but I truly feel as though it helps me to unwind, relax, & have fun! I love the relationships built, the experiences had (cooking, DIY, traveling, etc); & then writing about them! I am excited to push myself further with blogging, & to continue to have fun with it through out the next year.

+New experiences (just in general). Things can change at the drop of a hat. I don't exactly know what this next year may bring, but I do know that I am in charge of my goals, my dreams, & my experiences. I am the leader of my happiness & my attitude! & although I can't predict the future, I do know that I can predict the way I approach each day, & I am really excited for whats to come! Go back to school? start a family?... the possibilities are out there. Cheers to 26! Cheers to life.

The executive chef here was a genuinely nice person and never made us feel like we were just "business" for him. He was extremely competent and organized. Because of the natural beauty of the NYC venues, we were able to get away with very minimal decorations.
